The Brain & Body Calm anxiety therapy & anxiety program works with the root cause of anxiety, low self esteem, insecurity, shyness, separation anxiety, fear of social embarrassment, OCD tendencies, perfectionism, & poor sleep routine.
A drug free therapy program to make lasting change to help you, or your child feel less anxious.
54 year old man who suspects he is autistic. He was struggling with anxiety which stopped him doing new things & being out in public when he began the
Brain & Body Calm anxiety therapy & anxiety program.
"It has definitely helped as I am more amenable to more new things even if they have a social element to them"
"On occasion I have had thoughts and actions of pro-social behaviour that is not typical for me. More fun and laughter with wife. More playful and relaxed. "
7 year old boy who was anxious with new situations, wouldn't stay with family/friends and following his Mum into every room and wouldn't be alone. Getting to sleep was also a small problem.
"We saw massive improvements with this anxiety therapy program. He's getting off to sleep quicker, he's been in a new situation where he just ran off to into the holiday club without even looking back at me and he stayed at grandparents."
"We have seen a huge difference in our son, and his acknowledgment that the work we've been doing with Kate was working was amazing. He's much more confident and happy in new situations following this anxiety program."
6 year old boy with social anxiety surfacing as challenging behaviour, shy & very withdrawn with anyone except mum & dad. Freezes but he really wants to get involved. Anxiousness, seeming frustration with himself, very low self esteem - constantly puts himself down.
"Our boy is much more engaged with himself and plays independently. He seems happier in larger social settings and is definitely sleeping so much better. His reading has come on in leaps and bounds and he is engaging more at school."
"This anxiety therapy program is an extra & invaluable tool in giving your child that bit of extra help needed for future."
"Kate is exceptionally good at handling my boy with the anxiety program, even when he’s not wanting to be involved!"
10 year old girl with many difficulties at school: both academic and social
"It is still early days for us but I can see a difference in her attitude towards challenges. She seems less anxious and bolder since starting the Brain & Body Calm anxiety program"
"E wakes up less often in the night and generally seems less anxious. She's also bolder. Like she would often not go into cold water with us but suddenly she is the first one in. Or she jumped off a 3 meter diving board without hesitation for the first time in her life, she wouldn't have even entertained the thought before. She has had some encouraging feedback from school and she is more independent too"
"This anxiety therapy is very gentle but I can see the immediate effects it has on E, as in the gentlest of exercise makes her look exhausted. Kate is very gentle and patient but also clear in her instructions and constantly adapts to our needs. She listens to our feedback and has tweaked the plan where things have not been working for us."
The Brain & Body Calm anxiety therapy & anxiety program works with the root cause of anxiety, low self esteem, insecurity, shyness, separation anxiety, fear of social embarrassment, OCD tendencies, perfectionism, & poor sleep routine.
The root cause can be a retained Fear Paralysis reflex which can be linked to stress, illness or intoxication during pregnancy, a traumatic birth, or extreme physical and/or emotional stress after birth (at any age).
In the Brain & Body Calm anxiety therapy & anxiety program, we gradually work through simple movements which replicate the movements baby makes during pregnancy which can help the Fear Paralysis reflex switch off, and so can help reduce or resolve anxiety and other challenges listed.
We start where the client is able to start, so if gentle physical guidance is needed, then this is what we do until the client is ready to take the movement themselves.
The Brain & Body Calm anxiety therapy program usually lasts around 16 weeks with 1 appointment taken every 4 weeks or so (more frequent appointments are available if you would prefer a higher level of support). Advice is provided at the end of the anxiety program for ongoing maintenance if needed.
The movements given & practiced in the appointments should be practiced at home daily ideally, or minimum 5 times per week. To begin with the movements will take only 1-2 minutes per day, building up to a maximum of 15 minutes per day.
Each appointment costs £85 discounted to £65 for school hours appointments
It's obviously best to complete the Brain & Body Calm anxiety therapy program by completing all 16 weeks (4 appointments), however if you feel the anxiety program doesn't suit you, there is no commitment to taking all the appointments.
The 4 (or more if you wish) anxiety therapy appointments can be face to face, or online for when travel to Huddersfield is not possible.
There is no commitment to completing the 16 weeks of the anxiety program and you pay as you go with each appointment
If you would like to discuss your situation to help you decide whether the Brain & Body Calm anxiety therapy program would be a good fit for your child (or for you - this anxiety program works just as well for adults as it does for children!) please email kate@brainbodyboost.co.uk to arrange a free, and no obligation 15 minute phone consultation.
I'll let you into a little secret....I have lived with shyness, low self esteem, insecurity & low level anxiety all my life. Only I didn't know it....we don't know, what we don't know....and I didn't know I was living with ALL of these challenges. However, I did know I was VERY shy from being a young child.
Shyness can be painful (or at least VERY uncomfortable)...hence the phrase 'painfully shy'....it can make speaking infront of people outside of our close circle very difficult, particularly when the number of people increases...it feels like being centre of attention, and being centre of attention to someone who is shy is AWFUL.
At primary school, I felt comfortable being one to one with my best friend BUT I would stop speaking when there were more children around. In sixth form, I had a big group of friends BUT wouldn't speak when the whole group was together. And at Uni, I remember, being at a party when the person I went to the party with left the room and I really didn't know what to do with myself...the situation put me into fight or flight - I wanted to run away, but couldn't so became angry with the person who left me alone :-(
Shyness often goes hand in hand with low self esteem, insecurity & anxiety with a bit of fear of social embarrassment thrown to add another level to the discomfort. These challenges make school, work and socialising stressful and can lead to school refusal, avoidance of situations with new people or having to socialise with big groups.
As I have matured, I have learnt to be more outgoing and have more confidence (or can pretend!). I still prefer to socialise one to one or in small groups, rather than in big groups...but I CAN do big groups and I'm always better at it after a glass of prosecco!
It was only when I went to train in Primitive Reflexes (to help my son) that I discovered I my Fear Paralysis reflex was still active and the massive impact it was having on my life.
My mission in life is to help children & adults avoid the challenges caused by an active Fear Paralysis reflex....I can't turn back to the clock and live my 40 plus years of life being less anxious, more outgoing, and having more confidence...but I can help others avoid living with an unnecessarily difficult or uncomfortable life.
The great news is that if the Fear Paralysis reflex is active, it can be switched off through simple movements taking no longer than 15 minutes per day...and all is not lost if you miss a day or two per week, in fact it is fine to miss a couple of days each week!
So, if you feel that your child (or you for that matter!) would benefit from some support with anxiety, low self-esteem, insecurity, or shyness read on...
...and build up to a maximum of 15 minutes per day, remembering that it's ok to miss a day or two per week :-)
Often bedtime is a good time of day to fit the anxiety program movements into the daily routine and can become an enjoyable part of the day!
If you think you could fit 15 minutes or movements into your day, along with an appointment every 4 weeks during the length of the program, then the Brain & Body Calm Anxiety Therapy Program might be the right fit for you!

There are usually 4 appointments within the 16 weeks (every 4 weeks), however if you find you would prefer more support, we can have more frequent appointments.
Our appointments will last around 1 hour and email support is available throughout the anxiety therapy program.
You will receive a detailed questionnaire for completion prior to beginning the Brain & Body Calm therapy program covering the usual contact information, questions around pregnancy, birth and early child development and current challenges. It is not a problem if you do not have all the information requested, if, for example, you are an adoptive or foster family, just provide as much as you are able to.
The movements given (and practiced) in the appointments should then be practiced at home daily ideally (minimum 5 times per week). A reminder of the movements is emailed through after the appointment along with how long to practice them for each day.
To begin with the movements will take only 1-2 minutes per day, building up to a maximum of 15 minutes per day.
Bedtime is often a good time to do the movements as part of the bedtime routine, but time of day is not important so you can fit the movements around your daily routine.
Yes, it is possible to complete the appointments online if travel is not possible.
£117 per appointment discounted to £97 per appointment during school hours.
It's obviously best to complete the Brain & Body Calm anxiety therapy program, however if you feel it doesn't suit your child, there is no commitment to completing the 16 weeks and you only pay for the appointments taken. NB there is a 50% charge for appointments cancelled within 48 hours of the appointment.
As with any therapy program, unfortunately results cannot be guaranteed because everyone is different and everyone responds differently to the therapy program. However, the vast majority of clients see change when working consistently with the movements, with some clients seeing quite significant change after the first 4 weeks and others it can taking longer to see change and at a slower pace.
