UK Rest and Restore Protocol ™ Provider

The Rest and Restore Protocol ™ is an exciting new listening therapy from Unyte - developed to support healing, restoration and balance.  Designed to help calm and restore mental and physical functioning.

Safe & Sound Protocol ILS Unyte

What is the Rest and Restore Protocol ™ (RRP)?

The Rest and Restore ™  Protocol (RRP) is an innovative, clinical-grade listening therapy designed to support healing, help calm and restore mental and physical functioning and balance (homeostasis).

RRP is informed by decades of research studying physiological rhythms in the body, including heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and gut, alongside deep knowledge of advanced sound technology to support deep relaxation and optimal recovery for clients.

The Rest and Restore Protocol is enhanced by Sonocea
® which is an innovative, patent-pending technology that uses sound acoustics through music to sync with the natural biological rhythms of the body.

Stimulating these natural rhythms sends cues of safety to the nervous system, promoting healing functions that aid in mental and physical restoration.

How is RRP different to SSP?

How is the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) different to the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)?

SSP is designed to reduce stress & auditory sensitivity while reducing social anxiety through enhancing social engagement & resilience - it's focus is coregulation and connection with others.

Whilst RRP is designed to support nervous system regulation by balancing natural rhythms that occur within the body, such as breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, digestion.  So RRP can help shift you into a state of calmness and ease, leading to deeper rest, recovery and connection with self - it's focus is self-regulation, relaxation of muscles and connection with self (or coregulation of brain and body).

Both the SSP and RRP stimulate the Vagus Nerve.  SSP targets the ventral vagal complex for social engagement and RRP targets the dorsal vagal complex, which promotes deep restoration.

Possible benefits with Rest and Restore Protocol

The Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) is a research-based sound therapy with significant results possible in the following areas (preliminary pilot data in brackets) :

- Trauma-related symptoms (88% reported improvement)

- Anxiety symptoms (93% reported improvement)

- Insomnia related symptoms (76% reported improvement)

- Depression symptoms (82% reported improvement)

Rest and Restore Protocol

The Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) is primarily used to promote deep relaxation, recovery, balance in the body and mind, connection to self, cultivating interoception and self-regulation.

Using natural biological rhythms which are embedded in unique music, Rest and Restore Protocol provides a tool to signal the healing functions of the autonomic nervous system to gently move into states of calmness and relaxation.

Rest and Restore Protocol and Polyvagal Theory

RRP enhances parasympathetic activation, helping users move into a more restful state in which the brain and body form a more coherent state of coregulation - it promotes a sense of safety, relaxation and connection.

RRP can help guide the nervous system into immobilisation (Dorsal Vagal) WITHOUT FEAR.  This state enhances homeostatic functions of health, growth and restoration.

RRP is designed to gently re-engage the body's natural rhythms, restoring energy and alleviating feelings of dissociation or overwhelm.

RRP can also help reduce sympathetic arousal and increase vagal tone, which can help lower stress responses and improve recovery from stress - for a more resilient nervous system.

However, it also repurposes and integrates the energetic aspects of sympathetic arousal with parasympathetic processes - expressed as playfulness, exuberance, enthusiasm and optimism.  This encourages a shift from fight or flight towards a more balanced and restorative state.

What to expect

Initial screening and pathway matching takes place in our initial consultation where I share information about how the protocol works, understanding the ANS and state changes

Polyvagal Theory: The Science of Feeling Safe

Polyvagal Theory, or the “science of feeling safe,” is another one of the key research advancements that helps us better understand our challenges and gives us a foundational framework for non-invasive ways to support them.

Please get in touch for pricing - each person's route through the RRP is individual and therefore pricing is also individual...

...those with a history of trauma will require more support, as will those with sensitive systems, so standard pricing is difficult to achieve

About Me

I have been working with the SSP since 2019 after adding it to my successful Reflex Integration clinic where I work with parents, adoptive parents, foster carers and schools.  In 2025, when the Rest and Restore Protocol was launched, I trained and quickly found it to be a very exciting therapy to work with.

I love working with the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) with children who are struggling to manage their emotions and are often stuck in fight or flight.  When we are stuck in fight or flight, the world is a very stressful place (speaking from personal experience!) and the SSP and RRP are powerful tools to help children feel more safe and more able to take part in the world with confidence.

I also love to work with neurodiversity and genetic differences such as Down Syndrome (my youngest has Down Syndrome) and Fragile X and have seen great benefits as a result.
